Debbie Lyddon Talk via Zoom: ‘Sensing Place’
Monday 22nd March 2021 at 7pm GMT (an hour talk with Q&A after).
During this talk Debbie describes how the natural world inspires her work. She will explain the methods she uses to record her experience of the landscape she lives in and how she evokes that experience through materials and processes.
Debbie says: "My inspiration comes from being outside in the natural world, from walking, noticing and collecting. I make mixed media cloths, sculptures, installations and drawings which originate from thoughts and memories that are a consequence of experiencing place and paying attention. My practice aims to evoke a multi-sensory interpretation of my surroundings to promote an awareness of the relationship between the visual, aural and tactile landscape."
The talk will include a slide show that contains photographs, sound and video clips. Debbie will also have samples and sketchbooks to hand to show you.
Debbie will stay online for a short time after the talk to answer questions.
You will need to have access to the application Zoom for this talk. The link/invite will be provided shortly before the event.
